Corundum Brick

Corundum brick is a kind of high alumina refractory bricks, and mainly produced and applied as special refractory mateirals in extreme working conditions. Corundum brick is made of high purity fused alumina powder, white fused alumina oxide or tabular alumina, adding with other binders like refractory clays, reactive alumina powder, and high purity silica. Corundum bricks are calcined at high temperatures to form a matrix with mullite, mullite-corundum or corundum, which making corundum brick with excellent volume stability structure and service temperature can be reach to 1900°C.

Corundum Brick Introduction:

Corundum bricks are mainly made of high-purity raw materials such as alumina and corundum, and usually do not contain impurities such as free silicates. Among them, corundum is a mineral with high hardness and high density, which can form a hard crystal structure in the sintering process, so that corundum bricks have high compressive strength, wear resistance and other properties.

Corundum refractory bricks are refractory products with alumina content greater than 90% and corundum as the main crystal phase. High normal temperature compressive strength (up to 340MPa). High load softening start temperature (greater than 1700 ° C). Very good chemical stability, strong resistance to acidic or alkaline slag, metals and glass liquids.

Recent years, following the development of refractories, suitable addition of chromium oxide, zirconium oxide, or phosphates has improved bricks’ excellent structural flexibility, to length service life of ash melting furnaces and gas reactors in incinerators.

Corundum Brick is a kind of refractory product with corundum as the main crystal phase and contains over 90% aluminium oxide content. Corundum fire bricks have very high cold crushing strength that can reach up to 340MPa and high apparent initial softening temperature that is over 1700℃.
